Keffi Emirate Council to Partner with CMC to Revolutionize Agriculture
During a cordial meeting at the Emir’s Palace in Keffi on Sunday, Dr. Shehu Chindo Yamusa III (PhD), MON, the Emir of Keffi, warmly welcomed Lily Grace, the Executive Director of CMC, and her team. Dr. Yamusa emphasized Keffi’s status as a prime destination for investors, particularly in the realm of agriculture.
Expressing his own affinity for agriculture as a small-scale farmer, Dr. Yamusa disclosed that Keffi has garnered significant interest from over 50 companies, signaling investments totaling over $100 billion. These investments span critical areas such as warehousing, dairy production, machinery upgrades, seedling enhancements, animal feed production, and various value chains.
The Keffi Emirate Council has extended a hand of collaboration to Chat My Cause Farmers Initiative, aiming to catalyze growth in Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
The Emir underscored the importance of the partnership between the Emirate Council and CMC, highlighting its potential to scale up production and enhance the export capabilities of agricultural staples like rice and maize.
In response, Lily Grace echoed the Emir’s sentiments, emphasizing CMC’s commitment to transforming Nigeria’s agricultural landscape. She outlined CMC’s objective to empower women and youth, facilitate industrial-scale agricultural exports, and position Nigeria as a global agro-commercial hub.
